Color Drawn from Light
This project was part of an A.S.I.D. Showhouse, where I was invited to
contribute by Jennifer Burgess Loh Interiors. The room presented a unique
opportunity to create a decorative ceiling treatment that would strengthen the
connection between architecture, color, and design.
Drawing inspiration from a magnificent Italian light fixture, I developed a
custom color palette for the ceiling motif, carefully selecting hues that
echoed and enhanced the fixture's rich tones. The painted design became an
extension of the fixture itself, allowing color and ornament to flow
gracefully throughout the space.
The result was a room where every element worked in harmony. The ceiling motif
not only celebrated the beauty of the Italian fixture but also transformed the
overhead plane into an integral part of the design, demonstrating how
thoughtful color can unite a room and elevate its overall atmosphere.
